HD Witness V1.3 Released

We released our latest version of HD Witness, V1.3.  It's a powerful release with a ton of new features and capabilities and includes our new Linux Client, PTZ controls, System Health Monitoring and a bunch of other cool new stuff.

I haven't posted much on this blog in the past year but plan to start actively doing so again.  It will be a good place to discuss more personal observations about the IP Video industry at large.

The Arecont Vision AV8185 is a powerful camera that is changing the landscape of surveillance in terms of what's possible from a single IP camera. Below is a full size still shot from one of those cameras at Dodger Stadium. Use the web tool it is hosted through to go full screen on the image and digitally pan and zoom around it.

Remember, this camera is being recorded in this resolution at up to five frames per second and providing this level of digital zoom live, or recorded. No wonder these things are gaining a reputation as PTZ killers.
